Workshop 5.4 - Building Pascal’s Triangle

PROBLEM: World Series Problem. Two evenly matched teams play a series of games in which the first team to win four games wins the series. What is the probability that the series will be decided in:

  1. four games?
  2. five games?
  3. six games?
  4. or seven games?

Use your ingenuity to adapt this high-school level activity into an activity that your own primary level students might undertake.

See the section 'Workshop 5.4 - Pascal's Triangle section toward the bottom of the TEACHER-WORKSHOPS page for more information.
