identify suitable interviewees for your team eg. in SPORT, interview Miss Wilcock as organiser of the Athletics Carnival
prepare interview questions
build CONTEXT
include introduction: who are you? who are you interviewing? what is the interview about?
eg. Hi my name is …. and I am interviewing …. about …
some questions need to be closed (short answers)
some questions need to be open (open-ended, much more interesting for the listener)
brainstorm questions (no more than about 5-6)
sequence questions in a logical order
practise on someone
rewrite your questions out neatly
ask your teacher to photocopy the questions for the interviewee
request a convenient interview time with the subject
give the subject the photocopy of the questions before the interview
be on time for the interview
make sure your camera is charged
take a spare camera
take the tripod
take the clapperboard
set up the interview area in a quiet location
lock the door to avoid interruptions during filming
make sure the natural light (from a window) is behind the camera, shining on the subject
thank the interviewee at the end and sign off eg. ““this is ….from the 6S superstars signing off
ensure all equipment is returned and packed away
